Despotika Winery is located near Smederevska Palanka, in the northeastern part of Sumadija, once covered with thick deciduous forests. It belongs to the Šumadija region and from the winery itself, the view stretches across the valley of the Jasenica river, which flows through this area, to Avala, Kosmaj, Bukulja, Venčac, Oplenac and Rudnik.

Monastery Koporin & winery Ambelos
Vineyards and winery are part of the Koporin monastery, the Braničevska eparchy. The vineyard itself is planted in 2011 and covers 4 hectares. The present varieties are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlo, Prokupac, Tamjanika, Rhine Riesling and Italian Riesling. Another vineyard is planted in 2017, and on the surface of 2 hectares there are varieties of Cabernet Fran, Tamjanika and Pino Noir.
With a new plantation of a total area of over 6 hectares and about 3,000 chocolates per hectare, production of about 50,000 bottles of wine is expected. During the production of these wines, the multicultural monastic tradition is respected.
The Koporin Monastery with the Church of St. Stephen is an Orthodox monastery belonging to the Diocese of the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church. It is located on the edge of the ravaged town settlement of Velika Plana at the border belt with Smederevski Palanka. It represents a stationary cultural asset as a cultural monument of great importance.
The monastery’s patron is the despot Stefan Lazarević Visoki (1377-1427). The monastery church was erected at the turn of the 14th to the 15th century after the Battle of Angora in 1402.
